Japanese denim brand Edwin was established 1947 when denim fanatic K.K. Tsunemi decided to import jeans directy from the U.S. The demand was so great that he even sold used, worn out & dirty denim. Mr. Tsunemi decided to produce jeans of his own. By 1961 the first Edwin Jeans were available on the market. Since then Edwin has been one of the most innovative denim brands on the market, producing extra heavy 16 oz denim as early as 1963 & in the 1970's they were the first brand to introduce a kind of pre-wash process.
