We met up with OG Bella and Nasty Nash to talk about tattoos, Tinder and their new club “KK” - Klubb Kreatör. On Thursday 26th of October (22-03) at Häktet, it’s time for their first event.Nasty Nash will tattoo for free during the first hour, the remaining hours of the evening she, Thure and Otto, will tattoo people at a very good price and in the last hour they will raffle off three congratulations tattoos. Nataša adds:“Tattooing is art, an art form I think everyone should be able to be a part of’‘. There will also be an art exhibition the first hour, toothgems by Sirri and drunk food from Sandhäxan. DJs: Marble, Rocco, Rayo B2B Sofftronic and OG Bella. And of course some Caliroots goodie bags there for the first guests.
Tell us more about KK, the concept and future plans!
The club is called KK - short for “Klubb Kreatör” (Swedish for Club Creator) where the concept is a focus on creators of all kinds, everything from artists to people who make grillz. Recurring for each party will be tattoos & dj’s and in addition to that we will always bring in at least one more creator of a different kind. What kind of music is played will be varied and adapted to each individual evening.
Plans for futures are a Caliroots party and a singles party at Morfar Ginko on February 14th.
Who’s OG Bella and Nasty Nash?
OG Bella is an artist, dj and writer who originally comes from Gothenburg but has been living in Stockholm for the past two years.
What characterizes OG Bella’s art form the most is that the text is always centered and the subjects are often about love (not infrequently broken love) and despair. A delving into the human psyche in the hope of getting answers to why we are the way we are and do the way we do is almost always present, and her writing has been repeatedly praised by many different media. With a short time on the music scene, she has already been nominated twice for awards and is now entering the club scene to leave her mark there as well.
Nataša is a tattoo artist from Stockholm and that her style has made her a well-known profile within Stockholm’s tattoo world is not surprising. Her artistic expression, and obvious belief in tattooing as not only something beautiful - but also an art form, has made her a well-known name on the lips of Stockholmers. With a great love for tattooing at clubs and events, she has now chosen to take it further.
What started on Tinder back in 2016, continued at a Way Out West after after party and then developed into your own club. How would you describe your relationship today?
B: Today we are super good friends, we are similar in many ways even though our forms of expression can differ greatly. We had more to gain in a constellation of friendship than a love story and that’s how it had to be and we are grateful for that.
We have a clear creative exchange and have worked together before, for example my latest album cover is a photo of Nash tattooing my stomach. And speaking of the fact that we are alike, we can both be so damn slow sometimes with things we really want to get hold of, so there are plenty of unfinished tattoos. The best one has to be a blender that I have on my rib, the idea was that there would be a heart in red inside with the text “mixed feelings’ also in red but apparently the red color ran out so for six months now I look like the biggest smoothie lover haha.
What’s your best drunken tattoo?
B: Wow, there are so many to choose from haha, but a classic for me is that I get super drunk when I’m depressed and take out the machine, which really only comes out after a couple of units. Then I usually tattoo something depressing on myself, cry and feel sorry for myself. Then after a while I romanticize it and want to make art out of it lol. My latest is “lost in translation” but my favorite is probably “It’s not so damn easy” - which was also the cover of my first record release haha.
N: Me and a friend had been to dinner and we got quite drunk, we drove by my studio and thought to chill, but we got more drunk. Then I honestly don’t remember much more. But then I woke up at her place the next day, had laid on the sofa with my clothes on, I took off my shirt (sweated like a pig) then I got stuck in something with my nail and it hurt like hell. I looked for what it was and it was a tattoo with yesterday’s date, I didn’t understand when or how I did it.
I went in and woke up my friend and asked “what the hell is this?” When, where, how? Do you remember?” Then she said that we were sitting in the studio, I said that it was the best day of my life, that I needed to immortalize it and tattoo it on my body and turned on the station and started stabbing. The funny thing about it all is that I forgot “the best day of my life” the second I immortalized it on my body haha. Good evening apparently but it would have been fun if I remembered more of it though haha.
What’s your connection to Häktet?
B: We both have a great love for Häktet as we’ve been hanging out there a lot over the years, so KK first getting to debut there feels incredible, we are so hyped and grateful for it!
It has long been one of my favorite places. I used to hang out at Häktet long before I lived in Stockholm. Many evenings you soon forget and many evenings you barely remember, and everything from first dates to last dates haha.
