Clarks is a british footwear brand that has been around since 1825. Originally Clarks produced sheep skin slippers & womens shoes. In 1950 Clarks introduced the desert boot. It took inspiration from a type of rough suede boots the officers stationed in Egypt during the second world war were having made at the bazaar in Cairo. The desert boot was first launched in America were it gained massive popularity. When they were launched in Europe in 1965 along with the Wallabee shoe the Clarks name became the household word for all ankle high suede boots with crepe soles.
